Eternity Poem by Bernadeth Tolentino

Eternity

To the highest part of the tepui is my journey
To collect those three crystal eggs
Will I make it to the top without getting thirsty
Or the need to stop and look at my hands turning red

Alone I must travel, since it's forbidden
To bring another into the realm of spirits.
So alone I must face this fear I have hidden
But fear strikes me at every minute.

Every second feels like forever
Every rock in the way- another obstacle.
But inner strength brings me closer
To the end of my mission where I soar like an eagle.
