Eternal Portrait. Poem by Babatunde Olusegun Ajayi

Eternal Portrait.

Fetus, I nourish your infancy,
I'm the present precursor of your future,
You're my indissoluble sculpture,
Aim of my daily wants,
Infinity frame of my life.

Infant, yield to wisdom and prosperous
Speech of thy creator, your father;
Walk on her path for she
Laid tremendous and successful footprints
For thy fore-generations to trace.

You are the ashes of my embers
The indestructible picture of my image,
You`ll proceed to glow in
Flick flame of my smoke,
You're born a king to manipulate mankind.

You're the veritable accomplishment of my
Unfulfilled fantasizes and my aged dreams,
My everlasting shadow you are,
Generations over millennium my images lives
Upon thy photo, my eternal portrait.
