Epitaph Poem by jimmy zepp

Epitaph

Rating: 2.1

Three names and a date,
The finish line of your fate,
Wide open you find Heaven’s gate,
Too many old friends; waiting for a mate…

Leave the world with a grief so deep,
Since no one believed in you and your vow,
Now to your grave you slowly creep,
In front of death do that shameful bow!

But if you ask me if I ever knew how to hate,
Be sure I always preferred love at its highest rate,
A dear friend once had hurt me sharp with the edge of her blade,
You can find my coagulated blood frozen under that old tree’s shade…

I go to my rest with conscience cleared,
For I always in her love had believed,
But in different worlds we loved and lived,
You stayed; but I left sooner than you wished…

There is a grave of no big capacity,
Dug deliberately under that big tree,
Where once you carved out two letters,
Between them a heart; with angel like feathers…

My epitaph shall be placed over it somewhere,
Hope it would be well written so right and fair;
“Here sleeps a man whose memories shall never fade,
No matter how shadowy was his life’s solemn parade…?

Fly high above the cemetery nearby and see,
My lonely tomb, in that graveyard’s fenced sea,
Maybe you’ll hear the deafening voice of my soul that would plea,
For a late salvation; if only God and the all saints finally tend to agree…
