Epiphany In Carolina Poem by jackilton peachum

Epiphany In Carolina

Professor Quimby pauses, mid-lecture,
regards a wren alighting on the window-sill,
turns to us a happy face.

'Students, the time has come
-- spring has come and the birds have come--
and it is time for me to go! '

So saying, he went out-- we thought bathroom--
instead, he marched to his house, packed a bag
and moved to Vermont!
