Ephemera Poem by Phil Mason

Ephemera

You left as quickly as you arrived.
Suddenly.
Between these ends there were notes, we embraced, you came
Close enough to taste, smell, kiss, feel, love.
We talked, we touched, we felt
warm, I think,
with each other.

You turned to ice as suddenly
as you had appeared in my life
leaving
me lost, sad, weeping and
alone, you shut down
Completely.

And vanished.
And it hurts more than words allow

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this back at the end of October but was not happy with a particular stanza, so I took that out and will use it as the foundation for another poem.
