Envy

I want to shout
I want to scream
And tell the world
That it is selfish
Greedy and manipulative

People will envy you
Use you
Step on you
Talk about you
And still call you
Bad!

They try to put you down
Make you feel miserable
Unwanted
Powerless
Useless
And a failure
Yet you feel motivated
By their hate

Looking deep into their eyes
You see the rage
You see the fire
You see the passion
You see the violent desire
And you see the wish
The wish to be you
The wish to be just like you.

Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
