English Sonnet Poem by Leslie Alexis

English Sonnet

My darling love - do they remember us?
Beloved, I'm happy that you are my moon,
And candle shining in my universe:
The evidence that my day will come soon.
In times when darkness hangs upon the Earth,
You draw from me and demonstrate my light,
Proclaiming boldly the source of your worth;
through trust, we conquer things of darkest night.
In daytime, darkness stay within contains
A sampling of the fate that soon will come,
When I shall appear over the mountains,
And make the ones who look on me wholesome.
The lovers of the light would live in day,
As darkness rests in a timeless delay.
