Empty Womb Poem by Katherine H. Belle

Empty Womb

Rating: 5.0

I cry out
And my sorrow runs
So deeply
That the voice of God
Could not penetrate
The endless chasm
Within my soul
A void within
My empty womb
Where once your
Heart raced
At the sound of my voice
And all I know
is pain now
For I will never know you,
My child
Nor hold you
in my arms
And envelop you
Within the safety of my embrace
The angels above
Sing for my sorrow
As they carry you away
And as I hold your hand
One last time
I kiss your lips
And say goodbye
A mother
Should never know
The loss of her child
