Empty Shell Poem by Matt Burgett

Empty Shell

Empty and hollow
I'm all of an empty shell
Floating without roots
Destined to settle in Hell

With a numbness Inside I can not feel
A realisation has come to be
No-one knows what is really real
But It looks like it's not me

Because without a single glance
I could be passed on without a thought
Not a one of you would care either way
If I were to die and rot

A temptation I wished to be
But apparently something you just couldn't see
All I am is an empty shell
Slowly drifting my way towards Hell

With images of what I'll get
Of what await me when I reach Hell
Something to fill the empty
Something to fill this shell
