Elegy Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

Elegy

Greenish, as robust pumpkin I was yesterday
Not knowing what fate could offer
To my molten body of smooth flowing dye
In the year of today, even a decade
Could not tell nothing.
Just the wake of day
Had deprived me of yesterday’s breath
Now sentenced to jail of cold earth.
