Ego, It's Not Worth It Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

Ego, It's Not Worth It

It's the temporal pleasures
That drives man to trample his neighbour
The selfishness that inflate man's ego
It's the pot of wickedness
That opens a can of worms
Ego is a beautiful garment to the foolish
It's not worth a single cent
Yet it's the dress of choice for the selfish
Ever shining and full of power
Ego is an inflated sense of being
A delusion that have dire consequences
It's not worth it
To be fully inflated with ego
Only to be punctured by your own hands
It's not worth it
To dress yourself with ego
Only to lose your true self
To envelope yourself in selfishness
Only to be erased from the book of Life
It's not worth it
To dress in a beautiful garment of ego
Only to be cast out into the dark
Ego is a worthless piece of rubbish
Do not be tempted
It's not worth it
