How soon can you come back to me my love?
For the love pearl is in the heap of pebbles!
Just as the stars are brightest when the sky is dark,
For you are now noted to be with Edwin of late.
Pour out your heart to me my love without fear,
And rejoice with me my love with your muse;
For we must learn always on this earth,
And like the Africans waking up from their dreams.
