Earth smiled and sang
To the baby in the cradle
'You will start to fight me
From your first day
My gravity will scare you
The fear will vanish gradually
When you walk perfectly
Then you run with ecstasy
Soon you forget my gravity
And live with fun and vanity
Till you get old
To feel the fragility
And succumb to gravity
Everything you eat
Comes from me
Till your last day
When I consume you wholly
To feed your children
With your flesh and bones'
A great poem so brilliantly crafted, expressed and executed. So very true. To my Poem List.
An excellent poem on universal truth. Earth feeds everyone till death and earth eats that person at last
