Early Works - Silence Of It All Poem by David Harris

Early Works - Silence Of It All

The candle flickers and dims
as darkness surrounds
and night descends.
You drift away in solemn dreams
as the sandman comes to call
in the deep silence of it all.

You lay under crumpled covers
on your bed
dreaming of the day you wed
as the streetlights glare
sends sinister shadows on the wall
in the deep silence of it all.
