Drink Gold You Spaniards - West Indies In The 1500's. Poem by Juan Ponce de León

Drink Gold You Spaniards - West Indies In The 1500's.

Occasionally the captive slaves would rebel
and capture the guards who had forced on them hell
Then ever so swiftly with their new found freedom
The Spaniards to the ground the slaves are pinning.

Molten gold from the crucible bubbling
Flows into the mouths of the Spaniards screaming
A mouth that is held open by a forked twig
Wildly and happily the former slaves are chanting

“Drink Gold You Spaniards”.
