Drifting Away Poem by Sandra Feldman

Drifting Away

Rating: 5.0

Drifting, drifting, drifting away
Dreams come, night and day
Getting, getting, getting away
From life's reality
Its noisy traffic,
In a poetic way.

Looking for peace
And calming days
Where twilight is easy
Brings night, peaceful sleep
Hoping, hoping that the new day
Will not bring back memories
Of dreams that did not stay,
Those that were never possible
Anyway,
Those that were always,
Out of reach
And too far away,
Where love was cradled.
But never did stay,
Where love just drifted
Drifted away,
In a most poignant
And melancholic way.

A poignant write yet so lovely and sweet. So mellifluous when read and could rock you until the sadness felt is blown away. So comforting. Beautifully crafted and well executed. Onto my Poem List.
