Dreams For Johnny

Demons in rage
they can't be kept
they're illusions, they can't be caged
this is what he saw when he slept...

Screaming out at him in a raucous voice,
grotesque beast, their eyes red lit
toying with his mind doing deeds of their choice
only because he allows it.

Afraid there's nothing he can do
he sits up terrified in bed
afraid his nightmares are becoming true
he pulls the cover up over his head.

Surrounded by a cloud of black
peek from under the sheets, demons in chains
train of thought off it's track
now johnny's beyond insane.

It's just a figment of his imagination, right?
the raging demons and monsters that creep
the things that keep johnny up all night
the reasons why johnny never sleeps...

I think he sees what he wants to see
because it is only a dream
letting them become real, johnny's just crazy
then again, everything is never as it seems.
