Drawing Straws Poem by EC David

Drawing Straws

Rating: 5.0

Did you cut yourself when you turned the page?
Did you cry yourself to sleep?
Did you lay awake for seven days?
Did you find yourself in between?

Are working up while heading down?
Are you trying to shape air?
Are you feeding into only thoughts?
Are you feeding into cares?

Is this how it has to be?
Is this feeling space?
Is this all apart of you?
Is this all you crave?

Drawing straws for what is love.
Drawing straws for what is real.
Drawing straws for what’s enough
Drawing straws still.
