I’m not asking you for a future
Merely the here and now
Is there any chance you want the same?
To find more time together somehow...

Am I asking too much,
Is it so wrong
To want to feel alive again,
After feeling nothing for so long?

To experience love and tenderness
Give in to a passion we both feel.
Don’t deny us this
As for now it is very real...

You fear if this goes further you’ll cause me pain
But it’s a price I’m willing to pay
To feel alive again and live for the day.

To feel tenderness
To laugh and to cry;
Even if it’s only for a little while.

But to walk away and deny what’s there-
That’s a price too high for me to bear
To feel nothing and not know what could have been
To let fear come in between
To live for a future that may never come
Faced with desire but choosing to run
That will break my heart in two
More than the hurt I risk by being with you....
