'Don'T Change' He Said Poem by Jillian Cameron

'Don'T Change' He Said

'Kiss me' she said,
But her tone was bitter,
The clothes that she wore,
They did not fit her.
Her pants were too big
And kept slipping down,
Yet she couldn't manage to squeeze
Into the ball gown.

'Love me' she said,
'I'll change, just for you',
But there was no way
She could walk in those shoes.
She stood on her own toes
And tripped over her heel,
And the size of her feet
Just did not appeal.

'Don't go! ' she said,
'Or you'll regret it',
But he walked away,
And managed to forget it.

'Goodbye' she sighed,
Her tone no longer bitter,
The clothes she tried to wear,
Will never fit her.
