Don'T Believe The Hype Poem by Bernard Ceasar

Don't believe the hype-
all the put-downs, negativity, and sterotypes,
but know that not anyone can judge you because of certain things that you have done,
nor should they judge you by the color of your skin,
but who you are and what you will be is determined by the faith that you have within

you must learn to set goals in all of life's situation
and through faith, along with motivation and determination
you can reach your destination-

all it takes is a made-up mind
and you can overcome any obstacle, anywhere, at anytime

and be careful because people will often tell you that you cannot perform certain tasks in life
don't alway's think that they are telling you out of love
because sometimes it is actually out of strife

you must realize that everyone does not want you to achieve your dreams-
their desire is not to see you on the 'top'
but on the 'bottom' or maybe in 'between'-
you must separate yourself from all of those 'so-called freinds-
keep your mind focused and let your journey for success begin-
because you hold the key to your future for tomorrow,
but don't just hold-on to the key-
it will only make life harder.
