Does Crime Really Pay Poem by J.B. LeBuert

Does Crime Really Pay

On the surface of things all seems well;
Although the world might be going to hell.
I've seen some things in the last few days
That have led me to believe crime really pays.

I wasn't aware that I'd could be led astray,
And I've always heard that crime doesn't pay.
I'm now thinking that this could be amended.
I'm sure when if you analyze, you'll be offended.

Some mistakes are easily erased and forgiven.
It's not for the love of money, that I'm driven.
Fame and fortune are not what I strive for.
A comfortable life, who should need more?

Well, back to the fact that crime may pay.
Those in Congress know what I say.
They're stealing from us, our liberty,
Bankrupting the middle class, don't you see.

If we keep them poor and always at odds,
We can tell them it's the fault of the Gods.
Keep them confused and divide the masses,
They'll forget our wealth, and that we're real asses.

Greed is abound and crime really pays,
Wall Street's the shill game, and has been for days.
Show them the good of the 401 K,
Then we can steal their money away.

Where do you think the money went?
When the markets crashed, where was it sent?
They stole our wealth, before our very eyes,
Then got the media to cover their lies.

If you're broke now like never before,
Don't ever forget they're looking for more.
The next market crash won't even the score.
They're laughing at us, the working poor.

There is a sucker born every minute,
And they're devising new ways, on how to skin it.
The evolution of this disgusting greed game,
Won't happen, the way that we grovel for fame.
