Do You Believe Poem by Caleb Jones

Do You Believe

Take me, take me aside
Bring some excitement back into my life
I'm not so fond of this small town anymore
People are lying to themselves more and more

Do you believe
We are meant to leave
When I am wrong
I know you’re right
When I see darkness
You’re my light
I’ll ask you one more time
Can we leave tonight?

The lights are rarely on
The streets are filled with gloomy sounds
I found a map out of town, we'll pack our bags

Do you believe
We are meant to leave
When I am wrong
I know you’re right
When I see darkness
You’re my light
I’ll ask you one more time
Can we leave tonight?

Sleeping Beauty will never wake up here
And the faces are drowning in saltwater tears
Take a deep breath, don't move too fast
I can see it now, these memories won't last

Do you believe
That we’re meant to leave this all behind
We’re meant to leave
We’re meant to leave
When I am wrong
I know you’re right
When I see darkness
You’re my light
I’ll ask you one more time

Do you believe
We are meant to leave
When I am wrong
I know you’re right
When I see darkness
You’re my light
I’ll ask you one more time
Can we leave tonight?

Do you believe in me
Do you believe in you
Do you believe in us
Do you believe……..
