Do Not Go Gently Poem by Ethereal Eden

Do Not Go Gently

Rating: 4.0

A poet once admonished
The man he loved so well
Poised on the brink of Heaven
Or the Gates of Hell
That if his life was over
And he was going to die
That with his last remaining breath
Spit in The Reaper's eye.

He said,
Do not go gently
Into that dark night
Don't lay your spirit down
If you still can fight
Another day is dawning
But the work has just begun
And there'll be no victory
Until it's done

Now another curse be on us
This one as if from Hell
And whether we defeat it
Only time will tell
But we will do our damnedest
To turn the lethal tide
So that one early morning
We can take sweet victory's ride

Do not go gently
Into that dark night
Don't lay your weapon down
If you still can fight
Another day is dawning
But the war has just begun
And there'll be no victory
Until it's won
