Distant Strings Poem by Alexandre Nodopaka

Distant Strings

So close yet so far
would you play

your mandolin
a bit louder

so when the wind
blows south

my aural senses
can delight in you

if not your instrument.
It has been told

a woman's body
is like a violin

mine is like a drumstick
beating your pig skin
