Differences Are There Poem by Samanyan Lakshminarayanan

Differences Are There

Differences there are
differences should attract each other
differences should compliment each other
differences are only capitalised here

At a pan shop down south..
a north indian doing a pan for a south indian
the south indian would'nt pay him in full...mumbling
'you guys come here and make money'
another southie waiting for his pan intervened
'don't talk like that sir...every body is indian...
you don't know the suffering we went through in mumbai..
that man there....'
pan is not south indian
it was brought here by north indian
everybody would love to have a pan...
after a nice meal.
The idly's would be the same in north india

Differeces are there
they are a beauty
they give life a variety
Capitalising on
cashing on..on these differences
is the plaque in our society

Yes Samanyan you have touched upon a very topical issue....the north-south differences instead of being highlighted should be directed to compliment each other...unity in diversity is the name of the game as stated by Rajaram

Unity in diversity is the basis for this country, where different languages, castes, creeds, races and food habits exist. Your example of pan shop substantiates this.

Differences are the uniqueness of each one, in which individuality is divine....Your poem states more of capitalism, how it simply affect your society....Nice sharing of views and opinion. Interesting poem........Thanks!
