Did We See It Coming? Poem by Emmanuel Missebezi

Did We See It Coming?

DID WE SEE IT COMING?
Eye dripping in the afternoon sleep!
Wondering when the misery will end.
Two times a day is really hard.
Do people have nerves I wonder?
Certainly yes. But not often our relatives.
Waking-up every morning with thoughts of what to eat, How to move and how to sleep.
But is it acceptable to God?
We often get blinded.
We don't see it coming.
You hear the train coming behind your back
You just have to give way and never look back again.
Its dim but you just have to continue moving
For it wasn't meant for you.
But do we often deserve the punishment as innocent teenagers?
Certainly no.
But why do they come to haunt us?
And when will that stop?
You were somewhere there all of a sudden you find yourself in the dark.
What do they really want, fortune?
To see you suffer?
Wickedness?
That's surely something to think of.
But did we even see it coming?
