Did They Show Their Support? Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Did They Show Their Support?

Did they show their support?
No! They merely stood apart
In the comfort of their shielded port
Jeers, signs and laughter were their preferred art

Do you share their mentality?
They are not much in scarcity
Their case is near wickedness without brutality
Their display of shame is most round the city

Do they wait for the soup to be done?
And be on the table to wine and dine
It is a shame to be on the side of a time gone
Yet, thinking that you are looking fine

Will they be there at the smooth end?
Well, the road is there now for them to find
If only they can trudge away from a trend
Tomorrow, we can be one of a kind
