You dazzle me with
Your spectacular form - O Maha Durge!
Your breathtaking beauty,
Your splendid names,
Your awe inspiring deeds,
Your dynamic power - O Maha Durge!

You are the most beautiful,
Your face bright like the morning Sun,
You shine and shimmer - O Maha Devi!
Your intoxicated eyes like the red sparkling wine,
Your lips like the red hibiscus,
Your stunning vision is ever embedded in my heart!

You are the queen of the cosmos,
You are the queen of the Himalaya Mountains,
You are the queen of the Kadamba Forests,
You are the queen of the cosmic rivers -Ganga,
Yamuna, Sarasvati, Shutadri and Parushnee,
You are the queen of all hearts! O Maha Devi!

You are Parvati - the majestic daughter of Himavan,
You are Parameshvari - the lovely consort of Shiva,
You are Papanashini - the destroyer of all sins,
You are Parashakti- the supreme power,
You are Paraprakriti - the Goddess of Nature
You are Poorneshvari -the complete one!

Darling of the devotees,
Defender of the innocent and pure,
Destroyer of the enemies,
Defying all kinds of misconduct
Daring the devils!
Durga Devi -the sublime Goddess!

Dark tresses darker than the
Dark night - O Maha Kali!
Dangling, cascading,
Down like a silk curtain!
Daring curls that twine round like
Dark bees on a fair bloom!

Foes vanquished - by You, O Devi!
Foes that live within the mind,
Foes that oppose every lofty idea,
Foes that doubt every noble action,
Foes that refuse to learn more,
Foes that resist every progress!

O Mother Goddess - Maha Durge!
I touch your lotus feet with reverence,
I salute you hundred and eight times;
I am protected and sheltered by You!
In awe of your divine presence
I sing your glory with great joy!
