Destroy The Chains Poem by Amna Haleem

Destroy The Chains

Rating: 5.0

Tied, bound
Captured, closed
Lost, alone
In a place that used to be home
My safe refuge, place of comfort
All ruined and in chaos
Shards of glass are littered around
Rubble and dust float in the wind
Pieces of chains, cut my feet
Destroyed, annihilated
Everything falling around me
I'm alone bound by those chains
that pierce me and bind me
Lost in a world of darkness
That used to be comforting and safe
Now its cold and sinister
And full of evil and grief
Engulfing, Clogging
All the light, warmth
Restricting me, holding me in
making me believe
that I can't do it
Can't make it
Can't achieve
Anything
