Desplat Poem by Eli Spivakovsky

Desplat

bells and harps and flutes and cellos
mature
into our song
which arches its way into the heart's cavity
which buries deep-inside the whole city
which opens to the clearest day on record
which closes to the smallest sound of bees
which is so far away
so far away
so far that even the ocean's ache and tumble
I fell for a Northern-hemispherer
who stole my Autumn and called it spring
who trailed me with a butterfly migration
a little flap for the horizon's equator
a little flutter for the lost dragons
who dreamed me walking along the beach
when I was fast-awake and beating
and inserted strange instruments into our songs
like the celeste
as well as, bien sur, cellos and bells and harps and flutes
which arches its way into the heart's cavity
which carries your mischievious heart inside it
pretending you have none
which opens to the sun-burst-teared sky
which closes to the sound of the whole city in silver slivers
which is so far away
so far away
so far away
that even turtles get sad thinking about the distance
I fell for a Northern Hemispherer
who stole my winter and called it summer
who trailed me with a geese migration
a little flap for the horizon's equator
a little flutter for the lost seas
who, awake, fell into my slumbering heart
when I was dream-fasted and beating
and inserted strange instruments into our songs
like lutes
as well as, bien sur, flutes, cellos, harps and bells
which arches its way into the heart's cavity
which, flummoxed, is steeped in your blood
which opens to one perfect sunrise
which closes to the city-scape escaping itself
which is so far away
so far away
so far away
that even little children believe it exists
I fell for a Northern Hemispherer
who stole my autumn and called it fall
who trailed me with a swallow migration
a little flap for the horizon's equator
a little flutter for the lost zephyrs
who, awake, fell quietly into my snug heart
when I was fast-lucid and beating
and inserted strange instruments into our songs
like sitars and stars and moon-dust and neon and lots and lots of flutes, cellos, harps and bells
and even Desplat
