Dense Fog Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Dense Fog

Rating: 5.0

It's a foggy morning in winter,
I am a lonely traveller in the cold,
The dense fog pervades everywhere,
Everything is very dark and obscure,
The road seems to be endless,
I am stubbornly groping for my destination;
It's severe pain and anguish
For there is no trace of light in my foggy way,
I complain in a shrill voice but in vain,
No one comes to guide me towards the way of bright sunshine.
But I am reluctant to give up easily,
I know my indomitable spirit,
It always loves to win;
What a pain I have been enduring!
That's only I can feel.
I try my best to get rid of this deadlock,
But it's obscure, very obscure in the dense fog,
There is no ray of hope to win my goal.
Finally being exasperated and frustrated, as I sit down and begin to think it is all over,
Someone calls me from within,
"O Fool! look in your inner soul
And see there plenty of powerful sunshine,
Which can easily disperse the dense fog outside,
Then you can get eternal relief."
Being excited, soon I follow his advice with fullest concentration,
Eureka! I jump in an ecstasy,
As I find the truth of it,
It's bright sunshine everywhere.
