Defeat Poem by Brian Minniear

Defeat

My heart explodes slowly.
And shattering along spider-webbed cracks
Arcs outward and falls,
Becomes rain for what's beneath

And pools at rest without sleep
Sighs for its own impermanence
And is reduced to molecules
In the warmth of the sun.
