Deeply Buried Poem by Dee Daffodil

Deeply Buried

Rating: 5.0

Deeply buried 'neath the snow
Lies my garden
I should know...
I toiled long and hard

I await the warm Spring weather...
Will it come?
And when it does...
Will it be THIS year?

For I'm convinced
That snow must fall
And so it does
It falls...and falls...and falls!

They say that with a little luck
We might reach a record!
Wowza!
We had 20 cms yesterday...

Less than a hundred to go
To beat the 444.1 in 1971!
For my American friends...
That would be...14.6 feet!

Lucky? ? ! !
I say stuff it! !
I've had it with shovelling
I want warmth...and now...please!

Ok...now here's a dreadful thought...
What if it doesn't stop snowing? ? ?
What if this is how the last 'Ice Age' started? ? ?
What if? ? What if? ? ? AAAGGGHHHHH!

It's ok...I'll stop to breathe now...
Realizing it's just 'snow panic'

My friends across the pond
Tell me they have daffodils
Already in bloom
I'm clinging to that hope...

Yes it gets to a point where we say 'enough already'! You've captured the worst part of winter...when will it end and will it! Feeling your pain from afar but soon I see many daffodils in bloom for you. Hugs, Diane

Oh yes Dee, our daffodils are almost in full bloom! (But oh how I love a smattering of snow!) Great poem. HG: -) xx
