Death the Tsunami
Death comes like a tsunami into our lives
Leaves us wrecked and emotionally desolate.
All of our certainties washed away, we flounder
All of our uncertainties rise to the surface, like flotsam.
The darkness is a reality for all, those of faith and non.
The missing shape of a loved one, irreplaceable, gone.
The tears that wont come, the tears that wont stop
The whys, if only, pour into the breach engage our minds.
For some the cantor sings 'Hanani, ' God is gracious
For others only the silence will do, only the pain suffice.
In the future a light will shine, but for now only the darkness
Death is no trivial matter that words can comfort or remove
It paradoxically has to be lived by those left, to seek answers.
