Dear Australia Poem by mark anthony st. rose

Dear Australia

O my dear Australia,
How I yearn to hear your sweet voice
Summoning my heightened emotions,
And beckoning my already enchanted heart.
I yearn to hear you sing accented melodies,
But no, maybe it may bring tearful memories
of the wretched seas
that separates us so.
Or shall I swim the beauties
of the deeps to meet your love?
Or fly like a captured dove?
Truly my beauty
I feel like a hapless prisoner
Lost without love on this island.
