Dead Men Walk! Poem by bryan wallace

Dead Men Walk!

Rating: 4.5

To have hope is to be alive -
To feel passions and emotions.
To push our boundaries -
Further and beyond our comfort zone.
To be willing to experience new things -
By accepting our mistakes we learn.
By accepting and not judging others -
We can earn friendship and respect.
Each person that we meet -
Teaches us new things - if we are open.
By experiencing life we grow -
Like the budding roses in the Spring time -
Ready to blossom into Summer's beauty.

To be dead is to have no hope -
No belief in what tomorrow can bring.
To have no passion or emotion.
No desire to push our boundaries -
No desire to try new things.
To be un-accepting of mistakes - or worse -
To be too afraid -
To make the mistakes from which we can learn.
By being critical and judgmental of others -
We lose their friendship and respect.
Lose the chance to learn -
What they may teach or add to our lives.
By not experiencing life we wither and die
Like the leaves on the trees in Autumn -
Ready to turn into Winter's barren wilderness.
