Darkness Poem by John Yaws

Darkness

Darkness...what is hiding-
In the portals of the mind.
Therein lieth madness-
You will rue what you shall find.

Therein lies the portal-
Behind which madness lies.
You see it as it flickers,
Within the victims eyes.

Groping...lusting, longing-
And spending time alone,
Until the body's but a shell,
And all the mind is gone.
