Dark Love Poem by Phillip Erb

Dark Love

Light is easy to love
Show me your darkness
It might give me hope
To know we heartless
Ones became that way at night
In the northern pole winter light
Where stars prove we're not blind
When one dies it always comes back
I died last March, returned off track
So far I keep circling the woods lack
Of a compass keeps me repeating
The same steps back to our meeting
Place but you, her, no one ever shows
Up to take me back to the warm home
I finished building just for you
What now am I supposed to do
