Dark Angel Knight Poem by Frank Acquafredda

Dark Angel Knight

Forgive me father, my eternal wound
As I sit up on top, your decaying tomb,
My heart lays unrest from my childhood gloom
From the moment you left, I knew I was doomed.

Staring out now amid the cloudless night sky
My pain burning deep that I fight, but won't die,
The clock tower strikes, hearing gongs of church bells
My black wings emerging from the depths of hell.

Now down from the heavens, there begins a slight shower
To disguise all the love, his presence would devour.
The rains they would fall, like the tears down my face
From my feelings I would run, like it was a giant race.

I never would know then, that this pain I would feel
Would turn into darkness, then my soul it would steal
With all my worlds madness, it quickly turns into fury
My actions judge not, My life lived in purgatory.

With that being said, and black wings at a sprout
I thrust into the sky, where I shall hover about,
Forever life without you, my whole world in doubt
An eternity spent searching, as your name I still shout.

I am lost, but still seeking, as I scour the dark night
Please forgive me my father, your dark angel in flight.
