Dancing In The Rain Poem by Kevin Patrick

Dancing In The Rain

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes
the sun
cant give you the light
and its
those grey clouds
that make you feel bright

and its the yellow
that feels cruel
like a lead ball and chain
til black skies give
Bear Hugs
holding back all the pain

so when it thunders
let it roar
cause you know you need it more
just surrender
to the flood
it will sweep away your blue shore

for in the shelter
of the storm
you feel freedom pouring down
and in each sliver
a thousand drops
comes releif in the presents drought

and you know
it feels good
to dance in the rain

Rain is just as much a part of life as sunny days, as gray days, as snowy days, as blustery days so we might as well throw ourselves into them and feel all the different emotions, think all the different thoughts, and dance all the different rain dances. Excellent poem. 10

The title reminded me of Singin' in the Rain....and as I read, the music from some of the old Astaire-Rogers movies came to mind and seemed to go well with this verse, these lyrics. The message that there is joy in rain somehow seems appropriate with the world the way it is. This is a great poem....a 10.
