Daisy Poem by Randy Briggs

Daisy

party,
can't see straight,
fiend for a female.
i always screw it up.
freebird introduces me
to her friend, daisy.
'Hey Pink, this is my
friend daisy.'
I think-
'my dog's name is daisy.'
in my drunken stupor
i am able to hold back uttering
those words which would have
been so distasteful.
next night here comes daisy,
she sits, i sit in time due,
recognize,
before i could say hello
she spoke
'my dog's name is daisy.'
