(d) Beached Poem by crybaby clark

(d) Beached

Rating: 5.0

At days end you came....
and like the evening sun
did leave an afterglow.
If ever there was a
feeling so intense,
so unreal,
so calm,
so chilling,
behind such a warm ray that was your smile...
that night spent in your eyes was it
I would give to you all that night,
wrapped in a daylight squall
and take back
any excess
that you did not need.
It would be enough to watch you turn and grow,
at your speed, in your own time, in your own way...
even if i do the watching from ashore.....
for....
everytime our eyes meet.... and even though we both know there is more to seeing than just looking.... we go on looking anyway and
it happens... and even as it happens,
im telling myself to forget...
but then in doing so... it only makes certain id remember you always....
for that quiet,
the stillness... when your near.
And if it never comes again....
id be happy,
you laughed in my direction....
you looked in my direction...
even for a moment.... in truce or challenge?
but...
I will always think of it as RECOGNITION...
for i can draw your face a thousand times
tracing your smile
with my index finger....
making your hair just so,
i can paint your eyes
and say for sure...
this IS where i beached

and this IS where i shall beach forever more.
