Curtains Drawn Hide Unseen Shadows Cast In Life Poem by Terence George Craddock

Curtains Drawn Hide Unseen Shadows Cast In Life

I had written a poem 'Artistic Mind Web Destinations'
then extended past thought into an extended vision
with the poem 'When An Artist Walks Between Worlds'
then left the poems discarded forgotten moved on;
into other dreams other poems beckoning waiting written
yet strangely the latter poem refused to die forgotten death
a fellow poet chanced upon poetic scene walked words written
inspired poet Denis Mair perceived decoded a pattern written;

to decipher stray leads clues in bio codes is artistic transmutation
comment Denis Mair writ did smite in gene catalyst cloak verbatim
behold words reply Denis Mair had quicksilver revelation written;
''To me this reads as a memorial to lost edifices that were built in
the minds of empaths and creatives while journeying through life.
They walk between worlds full of walls. Their fate makes me think

of the 'mute, inglorious Milton' in
ELEGY WRITTEN IN A COUNTRY CHURCHYARD.''
what a wondrous reflection into life was Thomas Gray's;
elegy death all will conquer life dice better circumstances
fate changes the benefits of anonymity in purpose rages
a stoic rustic tone death into nature is a stern rule written;

any fear of death Gray refutes with an epitaph added addition
''A youth to Fortune and to Fame'' may indeed remain unknown
may in death dark days ''his head upon the lap of Earth'' fate rest
an effort faith made ''Large was his bounty, and his soul sincere''
Thomas Gray claims ''Heav'n did a recompense as largely send: ''
prize won? ''He gain'd from Heav'n ('twas all he wish'd) a friend.''
before soul shed breath of life where did ''trembling hope repose''
Gray edits life finality seeks ''The bosom of his Father and his God.''

many curtains drawn hide unseen shadows cast in life
an empath insight is a walk between worlds full of walls
empaths differing degrees of insight differing degrees;
of certainty extending too often into absolute certainty
absolute knowing differing gifts need differing walls
erected to protect viewer and viewed; an empath can;

stare into the face of friend or stranger and know words
spoken in truth or false knows when friend or stranger
even believes words spoken but words ring with no truth
words that can never be realized meetings events spoken;
of ideas aspirations dreams spoken of will never time be
empath can instant know with future time absolute certainty
an empath might erect built protective walls in mind creative
walk journeying through life accepting approaching reality;

p2 'Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard' by Thomas Gray was one of those high school poems that opened a window of insight into the value of differing life aspirations.
