Curious Poem by BRANDEN B. BRANDEN

Curious

Suddenly, and with a stunning sensation,
A voice, accompanied by the warmth of breath
Meets my ears,

And brings me to open my eyes to this
Broadly accepted room.

But who would be so cruel?
I ask.

Who would bring me from my tower
And land me on this barren plane?

Who would have thought they could reach me?
Hidden in my cozy comfort land.

They send in whispers from the darkness
To affect my mind so boldly
So as to send my comfort land
To fray into nothingness

They throw chains around me
And drag me into the burning sunlight
To make me ascertain where I am
And discern what I am to do here.

Why not let me be?
I would like to ask.

Why not let me crawl slothfully back to my dark delight
And be in hibernation
Until my heart is fully healed?

But no,
The voice is still there.
Still whispering in my ear with a riveting warmth,
Pulling where it is thought i need be

It will only ever effect me so,
Some people will never know what it's like to be a dreamer.
