Cracked Windshield Poem by D.N. Rebb

Cracked Windshield

Rating: 5.0

Sweet nostalgia's kicking in
Reliving a moment in time
When we carried our temptations
In buckets full of honest grime

We were younger and so in love
Couldn't keep hands off each other
Drunkenness played a different game
Our happy sides just uncovered

‘Member gettin' kicked from that bar
We were overly loud n' rude
Kept spilling drinks on the table
We put that waitress in some mood

Then hitched a ride, one of my buds
Can't remember the song that played
You danced out, right there in his car
Gave it y'all, right on the windshield

It just cracked, and man, did we laugh
You felt bad, and offered to pay
That was some pricey evening
Fell more in love with you that day

Funny how the mind works...sometimes turning a negative into a positive. Really enjoyed reading this nostagic poem. It too gave me some positive reminisces. THX, Poet Rebb!
