foolish is the research scientist
with a mind filled with research data
who is used to speaking in compound
and complex sentences precise plus
a few simple sentences for emphasis
trying to explain data on dairy waste
on farmland fertilizer nitrate levels
to a protester who cries in monosyllabic slabs
screams cow shit on the mind slogans;
a protester never realizing that milk
butter cheese are all gifts from cows
a protester never realizing that crops
grain fruit vegetables require fertilizer
nitrates to harvest grow healthy;
the protester wants prime farmland
the best farmland turned into weed
pine plantations for carbon credits
the protester never realizing that weed
pine plantations disaster never thinned
in growing are combustion fuel fire hazards;
pine is a heavy drinker of water daily
water in summer droughts in short supply
pine needles ground fallen are toxic to soil
pine is little diversity a limited ecosystem disaster;
growing diversity nature forests is the answer
protecting native forests from milling clearing
for Auckland city housing is the answer;
trees cut milled return carbon back
to environment trees were never best
options for removing industrial carbon waste
from polluted industrial waste atmosphere;
actually cleaner industry better technology
reducing pollution at industrial industry
source was is still the best solution;
the protester of cows never thought
collect cow waste at milking sheds
use methane as a clean technology
energy source for dairy electricity;
the protester blind just increased
carbon tax food prices increased
suffering for struggling below living
wage poor; wise cows at the milking
shed discussed protesters herd said
'let foolish protesters eat grass'
the era of insanity Jacinda Ardern
her hostile declared war on farmers
hostile new laws hostile production taxes
rapidly caused tsunami food inflation
rapidly increased farmer stressed out suicides
rapidly increased food production bankruptcy

Very well argued piece that reminds us---if we want to do our part for the environment, we need to inform ourselves and listen to those who have thought the matter through. Otherwise, we will discredit the environmental movement.
