Counting Stars Poem by EVON SMALL

Counting Stars

Rating: 5.0

Sunny days, starry nights
Here we are like kids each day
Just counting stars in wishing wells

If you look real close
You will find a star in areas so small, you would miss a count

Why must they say, "A star is found up real high?
Why must they say, "A star is only born in the sky?

Look around, look below
You can find many stars on earth, just as bright

Look at King, Billy King or even Larry King
Look at Jesse Owen or even Jesse Jackson
Look at Michael Jordon or the other great Michael Jackson

Look at your sons and your daughters
Look at Moms and Dads
Some would say they are heroes; who shine like stars in the sky

Do we need to count the stars in wishing wells?
Do we need to count the stars in the sky?

Look around and sing a praise; to all our earthly stars
Before their lights grow dim, when they are laid to rest
