Count Cadence!
Soldiers fall out for inspection
on the company street
and count off ONE! TWO! THREE!
Platoon sergeants report us
present or accounted for
to the company commander
We form in columns and march
to cadence counted by squad leaders
down the road to our fate
all in proper order
one by one
two by two
We lie in neat rows
all in proper order
beneath bronze markers
one by one
from sea to shining sea
