Conversation With A Friend Of Mine. Poem by Jeff Taylor

Conversation With A Friend Of Mine.

Rating: 5.0

I once had a conversation with a friend of mine
about the end of the world, and the end of time.
About the very fabric of our own existence
and how energy flows through every living being.

And I once had a conversation with a friend of mine
that ended in each of us tossing a dime
straight up in the air, and becoming aware
that the faces and tails may not match at all.

You see, I once had a conversation with a foe of mine
that ended in our rivalry being undermined,
and by the time that we had dined
we found that we were both, in time,
destined to leave this world behind
but it was just a conversation with a friend of mine.

A well written and deep piece, Jeff. I don't rate a large percentage of poems, but I'm giving this one a ten

I appreciate that Kelly, it is dedicated to you and Mike and the long talks we've all had at night. Those midnight musings are some of the most thought provoking and interesting conversations I get to have.
